A Strong Foundation For Life

The Sacred Heart Approach

At Sacred Heart, we create a focused and supportive learning environment where children are challenged to grow while receiving the personal attention they need. Our teachers build strong relationships with students and maintain high expectations in a caring, small-class setting.

Early Childhood

Our Preschool and Pre-K programs give children a warm, nurturing start to school. Through play-based learning and hands-on activities, we help them develop early literacy, math skills, confidence, and the social-emotional foundation they need to thrive in kindergarten.

Strong Academic Foundation
Using the Learning Without Tears curriculum, students build important early skills in letter formation, phonics, and number sense in a fun, age-appropriate way.
Social & Emotional Growth
Children learn essential life skills like respect, self-control, cooperation, and kindness in a caring and consistent environment.
Learning Through Play
Play-based activities help children develop early literacy, numeracy, and classroom readiness skills while fostering creativity and curiosity.
Character Development
Students are gently introduced to values such as gratitude, kindness, and respect, helping them grow into thoughtful and caring individuals.

Primary Grades

We focus on building a very strong foundation in reading, writing, and math during these critical early years. Our teachers provide plenty of individual attention while nurturing each child's natural curiosity and love of learning.

Orton-Gillingham-trained teachers provide structured, research-based literacy instruction.
Heggerty phonics strengthens phonological awareness and early decoding skills.
Lexia supports targeted, data-driven reading intervention and enrichment.
Big ideas math develops number sense, problem solving, and mathematical reasoning through intentional differentiation.
Purposeful handwriting & early cursive instruction support reading fluency, comprehension, and fine motor development.

Intermediate Grades

As students grow, we challenge them to think more deeply, work more independently, and apply what they're learning to real-world situations. Learning becomes more analytical and engaging across all subjects.

Content-rich curriculum emphasizing conceptual understanding and higher-order thinking.
Big Ideas Math with flexible grouping and leveled pathways to support and extend every learner.
Project-based learning integrating creativity, collaboration, and leadership, including signature grade-level projects.
Increasing academic independence in preparation for middle school.

Middle School

Our middle school program helps students develop strong critical thinking skills, effective communication, and the study habits they'll need for high school, all within a supportive and challenging environment.

Advanced, leveled mathematics pathways extending through Algebra II.
Ongoing vocabulary growth and purposeful writing experiences integrated across all subject areas.
A carefully curated literature program featuring classic and contemporary novels that explore virtue, justice, and moral development.
Explicit emphasis on organization, time management, and study strategies through a weekly Skills for Success course.
